Elias Mokwana has left Tunisian club Espérance, albeit on a temporary basis.

The 26-year-old was in North Africa for just a season following his move from Sekhukhune United on a three-year deal.

Espérance has decided to offload Mokwana to make way for new signings, according to some reports.

The KwaMhlanga-born footballer had a few options in Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Qatar, and after settling for Al-Hazem, he would be hoping to play regular football.

He was dropped from the Bafana Bafana squad to play Lesotho and Nigeria in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in Bloemfontein next month.

And with the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) around the corner, starting in December, Mokwana will be racing against time to earn a recall.

African Times can confirm he is travelling from Tunisia to Saudi Arabia today to complete his move, subject to a medical.
