KwaZulu-Natal club Durban City have announced the appointment of their new head coach following the exit of Gavin Hunt.

Hunt has been replaced by Sinethemba Badela, whose last stint was with Chippa United.

“Durban City FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Sinethemba Badela as the club’s new head coach,” reads the club’s statement.

“Coach Badela brings valuable top-flight experience and a modern, progressive approach to the game, with a strong focus on youth development. We welcome him to the Citizens family as we continue to build towards an exciting future.”

Badela was previously in charge of Chippa United at the start of the season but lost his job after just two matches.

The Durbanites occupy the seventh spot halfway into the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.

They will return to action towards the end of January after the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
