Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Neo Maema has made a move to Tanzania.
This comes after Sundowns announced Maema’s departure six days ago, allowing him to move on as a free agent.
One of Tanzania’s biggest clubs Simba have made good on their promise to bring him on board after he represented South Africa at the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The 29-year-old has signed for Simba on a one-year deal, with an option to extend for a further year.
He will be coached by fellow South African, Fadlu Davids.
Maema would be hoping to replicate his success at Sundowns.
He left the reigning Premier Soccer League champions after four years; four league titles, one Nedbank Cup, one MTN8 title and the African Football League title to his name, featuring in 120 games for the Brazilians.
