Xi Jinping Says China And Russia Should Maintain Close Cooperation In UN, BRICS, And SCO

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. According to Medvedev’s official page in social networks, he is in China on a two-day visit.

The representative of the Russian side conveyed to his Chinese counterpart a personal message and best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Medvedev drew attention to the constructive interaction between the leaders of the two states.

“The current unprecedentedly high level of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction between our countries is the result of the great work that you are doing together with Vladimir Putin” – Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation

He also said that during his visit to China he held a number of talks and meetings with the leadership of the Communist Party of China. According to Medvedev, inter-party cooperation is becoming an important component of Russian-Chinese relations.

In turn, Xi Jinping emphasised that Moscow and Beijing will continue to expand strategic partnership and strengthen mutual trust and cooperation in all areas.

“China and Russia are each other’s largest neighbours, and the development of good-neighbourly relations between them is based on historical logic and powerful internal driving force” – Xi Jinping, Chinese President.

He also recalled the need to develop cooperation through the UN, BRICS, SCO and other international associations.
