‘Would-be initiates Should Be Medically Examined First To Prevent Unnecessary Deaths’

Traditional surgeons work together with officials and doctors from the department of health to monitor the health of initiates. Members of the SAPS assisted by traditional leaders monitor the certification and compliance of traditional surgeons who are accredited by a joint body of government departments and traditional authorities.
