South African striker Khanyisa Mayo arrived home on Friday to conclude his move to Kaizer Chiefs.

Mayo, 27, joins Kaizer Chiefs on a one-year loan deal from Algerian club CR Belouizdad.

Amakhosi have an option to make it permanent at the end of this season.

The Mthatha-born forward returns home after a frustrating spell in North Africa, where he featured in 41 games over a single season but was deemed surplus to requirements by Belouizdad head coach Sead Ramovic.

He is on a three-year contract with Belouizdad, but with this loan move, his future appears to be on home soil.

Before his move to Algeria, Mayo had scored 29 goals in 93 appearances for Cape Town City.

And the Chiefs supporters are eager to see what he can deliver for the team.

On the international front, Mayo boosts seven caps for Bafana Bafana.
