Former Zimbabwean international and Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro has passed away.

The 40-year-old had battled diabetes for a while, and on Monday, African Times was informed Ndoro was found dead in his apartment in Sandton, Johannesburg.

In recent times, he was hospitalized in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, but had made a recovery and was reportedly on the verge of joining Eswatini First Division side Stumbo XI.

Ndoro started out at Chicken Inn in his homeland, Zimbabwe, before transferring to South Africa, where he starred for Mpumalanga Black Aces, Orlando Pirates, Ajax Cape Town, and Highlands Park.

He also had a short stint at Saudi club Al-Faisaly, but it was at Pirates where he certainly enjoyed his football, scoring 23 goals and seven assists in 60 games between 2015 and 2017.

He was last on the books of Oman’s top-flight team, Al Ourba SC.

For Zimbabwe, he made 14 appearances and was part of the Warriors squad at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon in 2017.

African Times sends its deepest condolences to the Ndoro family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.
