AS FAR have reclaimed their place at the summit of African women’s club football after clinching the CAF Women’s Champions League 2025 title on Friday, edging ASEC Mimosas 2–1 in a fiercely contested final played at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismaila, Egypt.
The Moroccan giants, champions in 2022 and finalists last season, completed their redemption in dramatic fashion to lift their second continental crown.
The victory places AS FAR alongside Mamelodi Sundowns as the only clubs to have won the tournament twice, further cementing their status among the continent’s elite.
It is a particularly sweet triumph for the Royal Army side, who were denied back-to-back titles last year by TP Mazembe—whom they in turn eliminated in this year’s semi-finals.
AS FAR will go home with prize money of $600,000 (R10.4 million), while the runners-up, ASEC, will be rewarded with $400,000 (R7 million).
