Amakhosi Fall Short in the League, Again!

Kaizer Chiefs have finished outside of the top eight for the second season in a row.

Amakhosi had their last chance to move up the Betway Premiership standings when they faced Polokwane City at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

But as witnessed this season—more often than not—Chiefs fired blanks, as the match ended goalless.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys are currently placed ninth after their last game of the season but could finish as lowly as 11th depending on other results.

And if you look at their league form this season, it’s no surprise really that they will not be in the MTN8 next season.

Nasreddine Nabi’s boys won just eight, drew eight, and to sum up their 2024/25 campaign, suffered 12 defeats.

This is, of course, nothing to write home about, and as suggested by recent reports, Nabi’s future at Naturena isn’t guaranteed.

“I regret not being in the MTN8, but it’s a process—this is a transition season. I give more importance to the model of my game. The problem of the team is goal scoring and efficiency,” Nabi commented post-match.
