Spanish club FC Barcelona has finalised a new deal with their manager, Hansi Flick.
The initial deal when he arrived at the Blaugrana last year was set to run until June 2026, but new terms have extended it by a year.
“FC Barcelona and Hansi Flick have reached an agreement for the renewal of his contract, which will tie him to the club until 30 June 2027,” confirmed the club.
“Hansi Flick has made Barça fans happy in his first season for many reasons: for the belief he has given to the team, for the epic comebacks, and for the trophies. The excitement that the German has brought to the club in his first year in charge has made FC Barcelona a feared rival once again in Europe.”
Under the guidance of Flick, Barcelona has won the Spanish La Liga, Spanish Super Cup, and Copa del Rey and came close in the UEFA Champions League, falling short in the semi-finals to Inter Milan.
Flick has won 43 of the 54 games he has been in charge, a win rate of 73%, the best in a first season since Luis Enrique recorded 83%.
