The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has dismissed claims by the Senegal Football Federation (FSF) relating to the logistics at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
The FSF cried foul on Friday over the lack of security when they arrived in the capital, Rabat, from Tangier by train, before questioning the decision to send them to the Mohammed VI Complex, which is a training base for their opponents in Sunday’s final, Morocco.
CAF said the FSF was consulted on the logistics, and therefore, they have no leg to stand on.
“The Confederation of African Football is committed to the principles of fairness, transparency, and strict adherence to CAF regulations,” stated the organization.
“Throughout the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, CAF, working together with the Local Organizing Committee, has ensured that all teams are subjected to the same conditions.
“CAF has noted statements attributed to the FSF in relation to their logistics ahead of the final.
“The FSF was given an opportunity to select a hotel for its team ahead of the final, and this was granted,” said CAF.
“When Senegal raised dissatisfaction in relation to the training facility, CAF immediately contacted the LOC to accommodate Senegal’s request for an alternative training field. This has been resolved.
“In line with regulations, the FSF were given their quota of tickets for the final. The FSF President, Abdoulaye Fall, and the leadership of CAF and the Local Organizing Committee have been in regular contact.
“CAF wishes both teams the best of luck ahead of the final that will be watched in 180 territories globally.”
