Chippa United mentor Sinethemba Badela is expected to depart the club sooner rather than later.
Badela, 35, has been at the helm for a little over two months, but indications are that the club would confirm his exit.
He is on a three-year contract, but African Times has it on good authority that both parties could soon tear it apart and part ways. It has been alleged that Badela does not see eye-to-eye with the club’s sporting director, Sinesipho Mali.
He has been in charge for only two games, a 1-1 home draw against Mamelodi Sundowns and a 1-0 away defeat to newly promoted Durban City.
As things stand, Badela has not been in charge of training, and reports suggest the club has turned to former Moroka Swallows coach Musa Nyatama to take the team forward in the absence of Badela.
Should he leave as expected, he would become the first coach of the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League season to be shown the exit door.
Badela and Mali could not be reached for a comment despite several attempts, while club boss Siviwe “Chippa” Mpengesi’s phone rang unanswered.
