Trade volume between the two countries rises by US$3.7 billion year on year

Trade between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates increased by 61.7 per cent in 2025. This was reported by MENA, a partner of TV BRICS, citing data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics of Egypt.
The trade volume between the two countries reached US$9.7 billion in 2025, compared with US$6 billion in 2024.
The statistical agency also stated that Egyptian exports to the UAE in 2025 amounted to US$7 billion, up from US$3.3 billion in 2024, an increase of 112.1 per cent. At the same time, Egyptian imports from the UAE in 2025 remained at the previous year’s level – US$2.7 billion.
During 2025, Egypt exported to the UAE mainly pearls, precious stones and jewellery – worth US$5.8 billion; electrical equipment and machinery – US$276.4 million; vegetables and fruits – US$181.8 million; food products – US$112.7 million; and cars, tractors and bicycles – US$45 million.
Egypt imported from the UAE pearls, precious stones and jewellery worth US$852 million; copper and copper products – US$477.6 million; plastics and plastic products – US$368.6 million; fuel, mineral oils and distillation products – US$256.7 million; and paper and paper products – US$101.7 million.
The Emirates invested US$4.7 billion in the Egyptian economy during the 2024–2025 financial year. Egyptian investments in the UAE grew from US$1.4 billion in 2023–2024 to US$1.8 billion in 2024–2025.
The release of these figures coincides with the visit of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the UAE. The Egyptian leader praised cooperation with the Emirates, noting the importance of increasing Emirati investments and the significance of bilateral ties for the region. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed readiness to expand cooperation, including in trade and investment.
