A state-owned company was opened in the Kilinto Industrial Park in Ethiopia. It will play an important role in vaccine production in the region and on the continent in general.

During the launch ceremony, Health Minister Lia Tadesse announced that Ethiopian government’s decision demonstrates its commitment to actively develop the industry.

According to Tadesse, the company will not limit itself only to the local market, but will also expand to the international level.

Developing national vaccine production capacity is one of the government’s priorities. Therefore, the authorities are currently working with various stakeholders to achieve this goal.

Kilinto is one of 13 industrial parks operating in the African country that specialises in the production of pharmaceutical products. This is reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.
