Raja Casablanca’s new head coach, Fadlu Davids, believes he would hit the ground running at the Moroccan club.

The South African has put pen to paper on a two-year deal, returning to the club following a season at Tanzanian outfit Simba SC.

“With a big team like Raja, with an ambitious coach like me, I want to go for every trophy that is available, of course. It starts with the Botola; we have to try to win every game,” said Davids, who previously worked for Raja as an assistant coach to German mentor Jozef Zinnbauer.

“It’s a fantastic feeling to be back home, a club where we have a good rapport and have received a warm welcome from the players already. I hope we can have a successful season,” he said.

“The atmosphere within the club is different and very professional, from the top all the way down.”

Davids concluded, “We want to cultivate that excitement throughout the club. We had a fantastic start to the training and received a positive response from the players. Now, we have to take this feeling, motivation, and professionalism to the pitch and into the entire club.”

David’s technical team boasts as many as four South Africans: Darian Wilken (assistant coach), Wayne Sandilands (goalkeeper coach), Mueez Kajee (video analyst), and Durell Butler (biokineticist).
