Ex-Raja Casablanca President Mohamed Boudrika has been sentenced to five years in prison.

The 41-year-old was sentenced on Wednesday by Morocco’s Casablanca Criminal Court after being found guilty of fraud, forgery, and issuing cheques without sufficient funds.

Boudrika was also ordered to pay MAD 664,000 (R1.3 million) in damages to the victims and barred from issuing cheques for one year.

Boudrika maintained his innocence throughout the trial, claiming there was no hard evidence.

He made international news when he was arrested in Germany in July 2024 under an international warrant and was later extradited to Morocco in April 2025 to face trial.

Further reports allege that Boudrika was also part of the Qatar 2022 World Cup ticket scandal, where free tickets meant for Moroccan fans were allegedly diverted and resold on the black market to wealthy individuals.

Born in Casablanca, Boudrika was Raja’s president twice, first from 2012 to 2016, then re-elected in May 2023.

It was not immediately clear whether he would appeal or not.
