Iran is intensifying its efforts to protect and promote its cultural heritage and tourism sector to achieve top-tier recognition from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), according to Reza Salehi Amiri, Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts. Under the seventh development plan, Iran is targeting a significant increase in health tourism, aiming to attract 2 million medical tourists, generating a projected revenue of US$6 billion. This represents a substantial leap from the current US$1.2 billion in health tourism revenue.

Iran will be investing heavily in infrastructural development, promotional campaigns, and international collaborations, as reported by the source.
