The Premier Soccer League’s least busy side, Mamelodi Sundowns, has finally completed another signing.
The reigning PSL champions have uncharacteristically been inactive in the transfer window, with their only confirmed signing being Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch.
Sundowns, however, have made their move in the form of new signing Katlego ‘Tsiki’ Ntsabeleng, who is not new to the club’s Chloorkop base.
He played youth football for Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.
The 27-year-old winger has joined the Brazilians on a one-season loan from Major League Soccer (MLS) club FC Dallas. He is been in the US since 2018, having started out with college football before joining Dallas in 2022.
“My football journey started in the streets of South Africa,” says the Daveyton-born footballer. “I finally played on grass when I was 14 years old.”
Sundowns presents an opportunity for him to play professional football on home soil for the first time in his career, and he is looking to make a big impression.
“There are a lot of expectations, which is the reason why I chose to play this sport: to win trophies and to bring smiles to people who pay money to see us play.
“So, my biggest mission is to get a trophy for this team, and I’m proud to be yellow.”
He is contracted to FC Dallas until December 2026 and depending on his season in the PSL, it could open the door for a permanent switch.
