At 39, Real Madrid legend Luka Modrić is not done at the highest level of the game.
Modrić parted company with Los Blancos in recent times and departed as the club’s most decorated player with 28 trophies in 13 years.
Many would have expected Modrić, who turns 40 in September, to head to Asia, specifically Saudi Arabia, for his last big payday.
Modrić, however, is on the verge of joining Italian Serie A side AC Milan.
The Rossoneri have offered the Croatian midfielder a one-year deal, plus an option until June 2027, with a salary of €3.5m (R71 million) net per season.
As things stand, the ball is in Modrić’s court to accept the deal.
