Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi was one of the standout performers as French side Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Italy’s Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich to win the UEFA Champions League (UCL) for the first time.

Hakimi, playing against his former team, was first on the scoresheet just 12 minutes in, before 19-year-old French forward Desire Doue added another one soon after for a two-nil lead at the break.

Doue completed his brace just after the hour mark, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, together with Senny Mayulu, completed the rout.

This is Hakimi’s second Champions League title after winning one with Real Madrid in 2018. He is also the first Moroccan to score in a UCL final.

Meanwhile, PSG coach Luis Enrique has joined Pep Guardiola as the only two coaches in history to win the treble with two different teams.

Guardiola and Enrique achieved their first trebles in their home country, Spain, with FC Barcelona in the 2008/09 and 2014/15 seasons, respectively.

“There was so much tension coming into the game. I don’t know what to think about it. I don’t know if we can call it a masterpiece,” reflected Enrique on Saturday’s emphatic win.
