Orlando Pirates will have to contend with Pyramids striker Fiston Mayele, who will be available for their CAF Champions League semifinal clash this weekend.

The two sides meet at the FNB Stadium on Saturday (18H00) in the first leg, and initial reports had suggested Mayele could be having trouble securing his visa to travel to South Africa from Egypt.

In December 2023, Mayele failed to make the trip due to visa issues as Pyramids travelled to face Mamelodi Sundowns in Pretoria, and it has been claimed he could face similar problems.

However, Pyramids are confident that’s a thing of the past, and this time, Mayele’s papers are in order.

It’s not clear why Mayele was denied a visa in 2023, but Pyramids explained at the time that it was a “matter of bureaucracy and laws.”

The DR Congo international has scored three goals in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League, including a brace in the quarterfinals against Moroccan club AS FAR.
