French club Paris Saint-Germain has won the UEFA Super Cup for the first time in its history.

The UEFA Champions League winners met Tottenham Hotspur, champions of the Europa League, in Udine, Italy, on Wednesday. The clash was settled on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regulation time.

With a 4-3 penalty shootout victory in the 50th edition of the UEFA Super Cup, Paris Saint-Germain entered the competition’s history books by winning the trophy for the first time.

Supported by nearly 6,000 fans, the Rouge & Bleu added a 56th line to their list of achievements by winning this trophy, their third European title after the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1996 and the Champions League (5-0 against Inter Milan) on 31 May.

Following their historic quadruple last season (Trophée des Champions, Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Champions League), Luis Enrique’s men—nine of whom have been nominated for the 2025 Ballon d’Or—have secured another trophy after a thrilling end to the match.

Since the arrival of Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), Paris Saint-Germain has won 38 trophies.
