BELA BELA – Two Nigerian foreign nationals were arrested in two locations by the Limpopo Provincial Police Organized Crime Unit in collaboration with a Private Security personnel for dealing in drugs in the Bela Bela town yesterday.
One was arrested in the Central Business District of BELA-BELA town’s Bham Street with street drugs street value estimated at R7000.00.
The other was arrested while driving along Chris Hani Drive in possession of Meth and Heroine drugs to the street value of R10 000.00.
Spokesperson for the Limpopo SAPS, Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said the two foreign nationals suspects were arrested operating in different locations of the Bela-Bela town under Waterberg District.
“At about 11:00, police received information about a male suspect who was busy selling illicit drugs in the CBD of the Bela-Bela town’s Bham street. Police reacted swiftly and reached the identified location. Upon their arrival, they found a 46 year-old suspect on the Bham street and searched him where they found a transparent plastic bag containing small sachets of illicit drugs of Crystal-Meth inside his pockets. The estimated street value of the drugs is valued at R7000-00. The suspect was arrested with immediate effect,” she said.
“The police proceeded to another street after a tip off about a male suspect selling illicit drugs while driving a silver grey Havaal motor vehicle in the area.
A search operation was activated until he was positively spotted driving along Chris Hani Drive and was immediately stopped.
A 55 year-old Nigerian man was searched and police found a plastic bag with Crystal -Meth and Heroine drugs to the street value of R10 000.00 under the driver’s seat and he was arrested on the spot.The drugs were seized and the duo are expected to appear before the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s Court on Monday 25 August 2025 facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
