Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim: country has embraced AI development following BRICS accession

In an exclusive interview with TV BRICS, Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim highlighted that among the country’s economic development priorities are digital transformation, large-scale investments, the establishment of data centres, and the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI).

“Malaysia now is the hub in the region for semiconductors, AI, and data centres” – Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.

He stressed that the country is also embarking on an energy transition and is working in cooperation with its ASEAN neighbours on this matter.

“We are starting to implement now an energy power grid for the whole subregion,” explained Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister added that Malaysia is also focusing on food security and is cooperating with Russia, China, and Brazil in this area.
