Russia makes a significant contribution to international energy and food security. This was stated by Ivan Polyakov, the Chairman of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council, on the sidelines of the B20 Summit, which started yesterday in Bali, Indonesia.
As part of the work of the Finance & Infrastructure Taskforce, the Russia-ASEAN Business Council, together with leading Russian industrial companies and banks, presented recommendations on cooperation between countries in the field of financing infrastructure projects. In addition, the key topics were: a just transition towards carbon neutrality, the development of digital platforms and technological solutions.
On the sidelines of the B20 business summit, Polyakov met with the head of the UN Global Compact, Sanda Ojiambo. They discussed the possibility of Russian companies joining the United Nations Global Compact initiative.
They also talked about the formation of modern business standards and the expansion of corporate responsibility to the boundaries of sustainable development. According to the Chairman of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council, it is precisely the expansion of cooperation with such energy giants as the Russian Federation that can bring developing countries from the ASEAN, APEC and BRICS groups closer to achieving sustainable development goals as soon as possible.
The Business 20 (B20) summit is taking place on the eve of the meeting of the G20 leaders, which starts on 15 November. The Business Forum is positioned as a platform for business participation in global governance. More than a thousand leading entrepreneurs are interested in it. The agenda of the event includes issues such as sustainable resource development, reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and technological innovation.
