South African cyclist Meli Ndlovu is preparing for an ambitious journey from Cape Town, South Africa, to Cairo, Egypt, which promises to be the biggest challenge of his career, according to the African Times, a partner of BRICS TV.

With over 36 medals to his name, Ndlovu has distinguished himself with notable achievements such as a 1,600-kilometre bike ride from Durban, South Africa, to Gweru, Zimbabwe, completed in just four days.

“When I first cycled in Zimbabwe, people didn’t really understand what I was doing, but they were incredibly supportive. Over time, many joined me and even cycled part of the way with me,” Ndlovu shared.

Now, Ndlovu is on a mission: to travel the length and breadth of Africa from Cape Town to Cairo. His goal is to inspire young Africans to adopt a healthy lifestyle, using sport as a tool for transformation. For him, this journey is more than just a personal challenge — it’s a message to the continent’s youth.

“They are the future leaders of Africa, and we need to guide them,” the athlete stressed.

In pursuit of a Guinness World Record and a healthier future for the African continent, Ndlovu has received support from a number of people and organizations around the world.
