The African continent will be represented by three nations, including South Africa, in the Round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.

Following the conclusion of the group stages on Sunday, SA was joined by Morocco and Nigeria, who also sealed qualification from their respective groups.

Amajita, guided by Raymond Mdaka, overcame the United States by a 2-1 scoreline in a Group E encounter played at the El Teniente Stadium on Sunday evening.

The USA drew first blood early in the first half, but Amajita hit back through Siviwe Magidigidi and Gomolemo Kekana, who was named Man of the Match.

In the Last 16, the reigning African champions will come up against the South Americans, Colombia, who won Group F.

SA and Colombia will meet on Wednesday, 8 October, in Talca, a Chilean city located about 255 km south of the capital, Santiago.

Nigeria made it through as one of the third-best-ranked teams and has a tough fixture against Argentina in the next round, also on Wednesday.

Morocco, meanwhile, came first in Group C ahead of Mexico, Spain, and Brazil, in what was dubbed the group of death.

The North Africans will entertain the Republic of Korea in the Last 16 in the early hours of Friday morning, 10 October, at the El Teniente Stadium.
