UAE Emerges as Top Destination for Egypt’s Engineering Exports in 2025 - African Times

UAE Emerges as Top Destination for Egypt’s Engineering Exports in 2025

The United Arab Emirates has become the leading market for Egypt’s engineering exports in 2025, as the sector continues to expand and strengthen its position in global trade. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

Between January and August 2025, Egyptian engineering exports rose by 12 per cent, reaching US$4.18 billion compared with US$3.75 billion during the same period in 2024. This represents the highest level recorded in the sector’s history for the first eight months of a year.

Projections indicate that Egyptian engineering exports could surpass US$6 billion by the end of 2025, consolidating the country’s role as a significant supplier in global value chains.

Analysts attribute this growth to several factors:

Enhanced competitiveness of Egyptian engineering goods in terms of quality and pricing.

Regional partnerships, particularly within the Arab world, which facilitate smoother trade flows.

Government support measures aimed at strengthening value-added industries.

Beyond immediate trade benefits, stronger export performance in engineering is expected to boost Egypt’s industrial employment, attract foreign investment, and support technological upgrading.

Experts also highlight that closer cooperation with markets such as the UAE could pave the way for joint ventures, technology transfer, and expanded market access across the Gulf and wider Middle East region.
