The Zion Christian Church (ZCC) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of one of its employees, Alex Nenguza, aged 53, who tragically died in a workplace accident on Wednesday. The incident occurred at approximately 13h00 on 19 November 2025 at the Boyne Filling Station, located in the Mankweng Policing Area of the Capricorn District in Limpopo Province.
According to preliminary reports, Nenguza was fatally injured after being struck by the trailer of a truck shortly after completing a task involving the balancing of its wheels. Emergency services responded promptly, but he was declared deceased at the scene.
Moatshe Ngoepe, spokesperson for the Zion Christian Church, said the loss is felt deeply by the Church community. “The Zion Christian Church leadership is profoundly grieved by this loss and extends its heartfelt condolences to Nenguza’s family, next of kin, friends, and the broader Church congregation,” Ngoepe said. “His passing is not only a personal loss to those who knew and loved him, but also a significant loss to the Church community, where he served with diligence and humility.”
The Church confirmed that it is fully cooperating with the South African Police Service, which has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Ngoepe added that the Church will refrain from further comment until the official findings are released and asked that the public respect the privacy of the family during this period of mourning.
“The Church will continue to provide pastoral and emotional support to the bereaved family and all affected colleagues,” Ngoepe said.
Nenguza’s untimely death has left a profound impact on the local community and colleagues who worked closely with him. The Church emphasised that his dedication and service will be remembered, and called on members of the public and media to show sensitivity during this difficult time.
The Zion Christian Church concluded its statement with a tribute to the late employee, wishing him eternal peace.
