Limpopo’s Peter Mokaba Stadium has won the bid to host the Carling Knockout final between Orlando Pirates and Marumo Gallants.
This year’s decider will be played on Saturday, 6 December, but the kick off time is yet to be confirmed.
Pirates got the nod as the home team after a draw, which means they will choose their preferred jersey and also pick their preferred dressing room.
The Buccaneers reached the final by beating Richards Bay 1-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, while Marumo Gallants got the better of Golden Arrows 4-2 on penalties at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday, after a 2-2 draw in regulation time.
Over the past few seasons, Pirates have emerged as cup specialists, and whether Marumo Gallants can stop them in Polokwane remains to be seen.
The champions will walk away with R6.6 million plus a R250 000 participation fee. The runners-up will take home R2.6 million (plus R250 000 participation fee).
