In a shocking move, South African mentor Rulani Mokwena has severed ties with Algerian club, MC Alger.

The 38-year-old departs MC Alger after eight months in the job and despite the fact that they are top of Algeria’s Ligue 1.

African Times has established that the parting of ways is a mutual agreement, with Mokwena expected to move to Libya.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach has for weeks been on the radar of Al Ittihad, who are home to the likes of Thembinkosi Lorch.

Al Ittihad have reportedly offered Mokwena R1.4 Million per month to guide their side, with the coach expected to put pen to paper soon.

Mokwena has also previously been in charge of Moroccan side, Wydad Casablanca.
