The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the CAF Super Cup 2025 between Egyptian club Pyramids and RS Berkane from Morocco will be played in Cairo on Saturday, 18 October.

“The Super Cup will be played at 30 June Stadium in Cairo, Egypt, on Saturday, 18 October 2025, with kick-off at 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT),” announced CAF.

The fixture will feature Pyramids FC, winners of the 2024-25 CAF Champions League, against RS Berkane, champions of the 2024-25 CAF Confederation Cup.

It will mark the first time since 2014 that the Egyptian capital hosts the prestigious one-off match between the winners of CAF’s two elite men’s interclub competitions.

Defending champions Zamalek FC lifted the trophy last year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, following victory over compatriots Al Ahly.

First staged in 1993, the CAF Super Cup has produced 17 different winners to date. Al Ahly hold the record with eight titles. Pyramids FC will make their debut appearance in the fixture, while RS Berkane are seeking their second Super Cup triumph, having previously won the title in 2022.

The winning club will receive USD 500,000 (R8.5 million) in prize money, while the runner-up will take home USD 250,000 (R4.2 million).
