The police in the Eastern Cape have tabled an offer of R50 000 to members of the community to help nab a man suspected of committing gruesome murders in KwaZakhele in Gqeberha and Joza in Makhanda.

Xabiso Mngcongo (34) is wanted for questioning, and the police believe that he could assist with their investigation in four murder cases.

He allegedly committed the offences between November 2022 and June 2024 and he killed his victims while they were not even posing a threat to him.

“Most victims were not armed, and one of them was a retired police officer. The person of interest, Xabiso Mngcongo (34) is wanted for questioning, and the police believe that he could assist with their investigation. Several attempts and efforts to locate Mngcongo were done, but they were all not successful. Therefore, a cash reward is offered to any person, who can provide information about the whereabouts of Xabiso Mngcongo,” the police said.
