The late SuperSport TV presenter Phumlani Msibi was a popular figure amongst his colleagues and Amanda Dlamini can attest to this.
The former Banyana Banyana captain, who also works for the pay-per-view broadcaster, has paid a glowing tribute to Msibi, who succumbed to an illness last Friday, at the age of 57.
“Ngikhule ezandleni zakho (you raised/mentored me), under your mentorship, your gentle cheers and compliments on every production,” wrote Dlamini, who like Msibi, comes from the province of KwaZulu Natal.
“Lessons about the industry, emotional intelligence and conflict resolution . Who do we turn to now. And over the years, you gently held my hand and affirmed my space in the industry. I’m going to miss our drives to match venues, our long conversations and your genuine thoughtfulness. It won’t be the same ungekho (without you).”
Dlamini concluded, “An absolute gentleman and so, so considerate. I will forever cherish the memories. I’m still praying for you but this time for your safe transition to the afterlife, for a peaceful and positive experience in the next phase of existence. uMaDlamini wakho omuhle. Bye Bye.”
The details for Msibi’s funeral are yet to be released.
