Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos says the team knows what to expect from Mexico in the build-up to the FIFA World Cup opener on Thursday.

Co-hosts Mexico will host Bafana Bafana at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Kick off will be 9 PM South African time.

“We know what to do against Mexico. We know what to do when they have the ball and when we have possession. Everything is focused on this game,” said Broos.

“They are all dangerous, they are a very good team with much movement and solidarity. You can see they really want to be world champions.”

Mexico are ranked 14th in the world, while Bafana Bafana come in at 60th place. Broos, however, remains confident of getting a result.

“You can see that with the way Mexico play. We will have to be at our best level if we want to get a result. It is a very complete team.

“For us it will be very important to stick to the game-plan and we don’t listen to what is happening in the stands,” added Broos.

With a capacity of 87,523, Estadio Azteca is the largest stadium in Latin America.
