Hyderabad — The Dr. MCR Human Resource Development Institute in Telangana, India, launched a two-week Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Media Management Training Program on 15 September 2025, hosting delegates from 25 countries.

Inaugurated by A. Santhi Kumari, Vice Chairman and Director General, the program underscores India’s commitment to global cooperation and capacity building in media governance.

In her address, Kumari emphasised the media’s pivotal role, stating, “Media is both the watchdog of society and the voice of the people.” She urged participants to equip themselves with tools to tackle modern communication challenges, including misinformation, AI ethics, fact-checking, and mobile journalism.

Launched in 1964 by India’s Ministry of External Affairs, ITEC has trained nearly 100,000 professionals since inception across sectors like media, governance, and technology. The program explores India’s diverse media landscape, with Kumari noting, “India’s multilingual media ecosystem offers valuable lessons in adapting to technological shifts while reaching underserved communities.”

The training fosters knowledge exchange through expert-led lectures, workshops, and field visits, enabling delegates to apply best practices in their home countries.

Hosted in Hyderabad, a cultural and knowledge hub, the program concludes on 27 September 2025.
