Former Bafana Bafana captain Lucas Radebe believes centre-back Mbekezeli Mbokazi will go far in his career.
The 20-year-old impressed for Bafana Bafana during this year’s World Cup and he is now linked with a host of clubs, including Italy’s Napoli.
Radebe, too, has been impressed and reckons Mbokazi is on his way to the top.
“I’ve heard about TLB before. I mean, I watched him at Orlando Pirates. Fearless,” said Radebe during an interview with the Arena Sports Show. “You know, if you want to know a great quality of a defender, fearless. That’s one of the things.”
“And he’s not scared of getting involved physically. But what’s incredible about him is his positioning. You know, last minute tackles, very strong tackles.
“He’s a youngster and he’s already had a move. It shows what he can be going forward. You know, he’s young, he’s still learning, still developing in the game.
“And possibly when he gets that big move, he’ll be one of the best players we’ve ever produced,” added Radebe, who played 70 times for Bafana Bafana and captained English Premier League side, Leeds United.
Mbokazi, who currently plays for MLS side Chicago Fire, has earned 14 Bafana Bafana caps.
