Morocco has set up a date with France in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup.
The two nations will meet on Thursday in Boston, USA, for a place in the semi-finals.
The Atlas Lions will be looking to go one better this time after they became the first African side to feature in the last four in the 2022 edition.
As per a report on CAF, Morocco became the first African nation to reach the World Cup quarter-finals more than once after beating co-hosts Canada 3-0 in Houston over the weekend.
Azzedine Ounahi scored twice in the second half before Soufiane Rahimi added a late third as the Atlas Lions ended Canada’s impressive run and moved into the last eight for the second consecutive tournament.
Ounahi became the first African player to score twice in a World Cup knockout match since Senegal’s Henri Camara against Sweden in 2002.
It also continued a remarkable personal record, with Morocco having won every match in which Ounahi has scored.
Africa would be hoping Ounahi retains the same hunger for goals against France.
Meanwhile, Egypt will be in action on Tuesday against the reigning World Cup champions Argentina for a place in the quarter-finals.
