MT Sports Agency, the company that manages Dr. Pitso Mosimane’s career and South Africa’s celebrated coach have lost their legal battle against Mamelodi Sundowns.

MT Sports and the club’s former head coach, Mosimane, have been ordered to repay millions of rand to the Tshwane club.

As per SABC Sport, Judge Shaanaz Mia of the South Gauteng High Court has ruled the defendants, MT Sports and Mosimane, shall pay R7,912,905.00 in agents’ commission fees, plus 7% interest per annum from 10 May 2021 until the date of payment.

MT Sports’ Managing Director is the wife of Mosimane, Moira Tlhagale.

In court, Sundowns’ lawyers argued MT Sports was obliged to repay the outstanding agent’s commission from when Mosimane left Chloorkop for Al Ahly in 2020.

Sundowns were seeking to recover part of the R8.6 million in fees paid to MT Sports when the coach signed a new four-year contract at the end of the 2019/20 season—just two months before he tendered his resignation in September 2020 and joined Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

It was not immediately clear if MT Sports and Dr. Mosimane intend to appeal the judgment.
