Zimbabwean striker Knowledge Musona is back home after 16 years abroad.
Known as the ‘Smiling Assassin’ for his goalscoring prowess, the 35-year-old has signed for Scotland FC.
Musona was a free agent after parting ways with Saudi club Al-Okhdood.
Scotland FC has been in the news for their signings. Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs winger Khama Billiat plays for the club in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, while former Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United striker Terrence Dzvukamanja also joined the club in recent times.
Knowledge Musona’s younger brother Walter is also in the club’s books, and all these players are reportedly on big salaries, figures unheard of in the Zimbabwean league.
Scotland FC is owned by gold dealer and legislator Pedzai “Scott” Sakupwanya, and Billiat reportedly earns R108 000 monthly, while Musona is now believed to be the highest earner, though his salary has not been revealed.
Musona will play in Zimbabwe’s top-flight for the first time in his career. He left the country when he was 19 to join Chiefs back in 2009, and after a successful stint at Naturena, he went on to play in Germany, Belgium, and Saudi Arabia.
