Spanish giants Real Madrid have confirmed their first signing ahead of next season.

Los Blancos have snapped up center back Dean Huijsen from English side AFC Bournemouth.

“We have reached an agreement for the transfer of Dean Huijsen, who will be linked to our club for the next five seasons, from 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2030,” announced Real Madrid.

“At 20 years of age, Huijsen is already a Spain international and has played in Italy’s Serie A with Juventus and Roma and in the Premier League with Bournemouth. Huijsen has been nominated for Premier League Young Player of the Year 2024-2025.”

Real Madrid activated the player’s £50 million (R1.1 billion) release clause.

He came through the youth ranks at Spanish side Malaga and in 2021, signed for Juventus’s academy, where he made his first-team debut in a match against AC Milan. He later played half a season on loan at Roma before finally joining Bournemouth.
