Center-back Rushine De Reuck has taken his football to East Africa.

The 29-year-old has teamed up with one of the region’s most successful clubs, Simba Sporting Club, who have won the Tanzanian Premier League on 22 occasions.

“De Reuck joins us on a one-year contract with the option of a further year. De Reuck (29), a South African citizen, is a defender with extensive experience in the African Champions League, and that is one of the things that convinced us to sign him,” stated Simba.

De Reuck was recommended to the club by head coach Fadlu Davids, whose side has departed for Egypt to begin their preseason training.

De Reuck was in the books of Mamelodi Sundowns for years but spent last season on loan at Israeli team Maccabi Petah Tikva.

“This is our first signing towards the new 2025/2026 season, and he has already arrived in the country to begin preparations,” added Simba.

The Cape Town-born defender played 173 matches in South Africa’s top flight. He featured in 94 matches for Mamelodi Sundowns and 79 for Maritzburg United.
