TV BRICS and the representative office of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area – Yugra have signed a co-operation agreement. The document was signed in Moscow by Janna Tolstikova, CEO of TV BRICS and Vladislav Nigmatulin, Head of the Representative Office – Deputy Governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra.

The cooperation between the partners is aimed at creating a positive image of Yugra in the BRICS+ countries and increasing the recognition of the Russian Federation constituent entity in the international arena. In particular, the parties agreed to inform foreign audiences about the achievements of the Russian region in socio-economic spheres, to provide high-quality information support for business missions, to assist each other in organising and holding major international events.

“Yugra is an active region that is always open to partnership. There is diplomacy of countries, there is diplomacy of regions, and there is diplomacy of people. In my opinion, TV BRICS is about people’s diplomacy. Thanks to its indigenous minorities, Yugra is a region with a unique cultural code, which we are ready and willing to share with citizens of foreign countries. In its broadcasts, TV BRICS emphasises the culture, history, life, nature and values of the BRICS+ countries. Yugra has many of these treasures, and we want to show them to other countries to interest, surprise and inspire friendship with our region. Therefore, we hope that TV BRICS will become a reliable partner for us in promoting Yugra abroad,” Vladislav Nigmatulin emphasised.

Janna Tolstikova, CEO of TV BRICS, noted that in the year of Russia’s presidency in BRICS it is especially important to improve the efficiency of communication between Russian regions and the BRICS countries. For this purpose, the media network is ready to use a wide range of its own information resources, working in the languages of the BRICS countries, and the capabilities of its partners, which are more than 60 major media outlets in 15 countries, including Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Argentina, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Mozambique, Tunisia.

“TV BRICS covers the regional agenda of the BRICS+ countries, integrating news, films and programmes about the regions, provinces, districts, provinces, states and cities of the association countries into a global system of information exchange between national media. This approach contributes to building interregional cooperation within BRICS, strengthening ties and exchanges” said Janna Tolstikova.

She also specified that in 2024 TV BRICS will provide information support to the XXII International Debut Film Festival “Spirit of Fire” and the XV International IT Forum with the participation of BRICS and SCO countries, which will be held in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area.

Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra is located in the middle part of Russia and the Eurasian continent. The territory of the region is almost 535 thousand square kilometres, which is comparable to the territory of France.

The district capital hosts many international and Russian business, scientific, cultural and sporting events. Yugra has unique natural resources for recreation and tourism. Indigenous peoples, such as Khanty, Mansi and Nenets, still lead their traditional way of life here.
