Should the United States of America club Minnesota United have their way, Relebohile Mofokeng would join them from Orlando Pirates.
Minnesota United, who are home to South Africa’s Bongokuhle Hlongwane, have put in an offer for Mofokeng, who is arguably South Africa’s hottest young talent in the domestic league.
The 20-year-old continues to attract interest from overseas, and Minnesota United has emerged as the latest club to express interest in the Betway Premiership 2024/25 Young Player of the Season.
According to reports in the USA, Minnesota United has submitted a bid of $2m (R35 million) for the winger, and talks are ongoing.
African Times has been informed Pirates are not keen to let Mofokeng leave before the Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
Recently, Saudi club Al-Ettifaq put in an offer for the Sharpeville-born footballer, but it would appear they failed to convince Pirates to part with their most prized possession.
Whether Minnesota United can get a deal over the line remains to be seen.
