The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has let go of Chipolopolo head coach Avram Grant ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, FAZ confirmed that the decision was reached through a mutual agreement between the two parties.
“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has agreed to mutually separate with Zambia Senior Men’s National Team coach Avram Grant. The two parties agreed to mutually separate with FAZ wishing Mr. Grant the best of luck in his future endeavours,” said FAZ General Secretary, Machacha Shepande.
“For now, we can only thank Mr. Grant for his contribution to the Zambian game.”
The former Chelsea mentor was at the helm for almost three years, having guided the side since 22 December 2022.
Grant led Chipolopolo to two consecutive AFCON qualifications — for the 2024 and 2025/26 editions.
Zambia are drawn in Group A for the upcoming AFCON 2025 in Morocco, alongside the host nation, Mali, and Comoros.
They will face Bafana Bafana in a friendly international on 14 November in preparation for the tournament.
