MC Alger coach Rulani Mokwena has fielded questions over his future following the Algerian club’s exit from the CAF Champions League.

Mokwena’s MC Alger lost 2-0 to his former employers Mamelodi Sundowns on the weekend, in a match played in Pretoria.

The defeat sent MC Alger packing as they finished third in the group. Only the group winners and runners-up progress to the Quarterfinals.

Mokwena reacted, “I don’t know, that’s up to the club, I’m focused on what’s left of the remainder of the season.

“That’s the question that’s not in my control.”

The South African gaffer joined MC Alger on 13 July last year, on a two-year deal.

MC Alger are currently top of the standings in the Ligue 1, while the club also beat rivals USM Alger in January when they claimed the Super Cup.

Mokwena now shifts focus to a Ligue 1 match against MC Oran on Friday, an away game.
