Egyptian club Al Ahly has continued to ‘clean’ house following their exit from the CAF Champions League.

The 12-time record winners of this competition recently announced the departure of head coach Marcel Koller after being eliminated in the semi-finals by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Al Ahly’s sporting director Mohamed Ramadan has been let go too.

Ramadan’s departure was reportedly necessitated by Al Ahly going back to the drawing board in a bid to change tact and have a different strategy in a bid to not lose their dominance over Africa.

The new sporting director, Mohamed Youssef, is a familiar face at Al Ahly.

He previously played and coached the team. In fact, he was in the dugout when Al Ahly beat Orlando Pirates in the final of the 2013 CAF Champions League.

In terms of the technical team, former Al Ahly defender Emad El-Nahhas has taken over on an interim basis.
