The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in Limpopo has called on police to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the alleged murder of 20-year-old comedian Ndivhuwo Khadzianii, popularly known as Skeem Mafenya.
Mafenya was allegedly stabbed at Macece Resort in Muchipis village, outside Malamulele, with the circumstances surrounding his death still unclear.
In a statement issued on Saturday, 17 October 2026, the ANCYL Limpopo expressed deep concern over reports of the young entertainer’s alleged stabbing and urged the South African Police Service (SAPS) to establish what happened and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
“We call on the South African Police Service (SAPS) to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation to establish exactly what transpired and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice,” the organisation said.
The youth league also appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist investigators to come forward and cooperate with police.
The organisation said Mafenya’s death highlighted the urgent need to confront violence in communities, stressing that young people should be able to pursue their talents and participate in community life without fearing for their safety.
It further urged members of the public to refrain from spreading unverified information that could prejudice the investigation or cause additional pain to the bereaved family.
As the family and loved ones mourn the loss of the young comedian, the ANCYL extended its condolences and called on the community to respect their privacy during this difficult period.
