Ancelotti Agrees to Become the Next Brazil Manager

Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti is set for another big role in the world of football.

The 65-year-old has for months been courted by the Brazilian national team, and the two parties have finally agreed to a deal.

This means that Ancelotti will leave Spanish giants Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Ancelotti will take over the Seleção, and his biggest assignment will be the FIFA 2026 World Cup set to be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Brazil has won the World Cup a record five times, but their last success was over two decades ago when they won the 2002 edition in South Korea and Japan.

The South Americans are now ranked fifth in world football, four places below nemesis Argentina, who are the top nation and the reigning world champions.

Ancelotti will certainly be tasked with returning Brazil to the top, and for a coach who has won a record five UEFA Champions League titles, a lot will be expected from him when he embarks on his journey with Brazil.

Ancelotti replaces Dorival Junior, who lost the Brazil job last month after losing 4-1 to Argentina in Buenos Aires.
