Brazilian Government Proposes To Raise Teachers’ Salaries By 2026

Faculty at federal universities and colleges will receive pay increases of 13.3-31 per cent by 2026.

Raise rates will no longer be uniform and will depend on category. Those earning more will receive a minimum raise of 13.3 per cent. Those earning less will get a maximum raise of 31 per cent. This is reported by Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.

According to the National Union of Higher Education Teachers (Andes), this is the latest proposal from the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) for higher education teachers.

With a linear adjustment of 9 per cent granted to the federal civil service in 2023, the total increase, MGI said, would be between 23 per cent and 43 per cent over four years.
